The Madhuram Narayanan Centre for Exceptional Children, celebrated its tenth anniversary on 12th December, 1999. It was a moving and emotion-charged occasion, made memorable by the indefatigable children and their proud parents.
K S Narayanan, who inaugurated the centre ten years ago, was there this year too, to preside over the function. The children at the Centre put up a delightful performance. There were group dances including a ‘bhangra’ by over 25 children. Children of different age groups thrilled the audience and their parents too participated enthusiastically in the programme. The self confidence of the parents and the self- sufficiency of the children amply
demonstrated the success of the training both have received at the centre. Tremendous effort had obviously gone into the organisation of the event, a triumph of teamwork on the parts of staff, parents and other well wishers.

and become part of the society they live in. He urged the corporate sector, welfare organisations and funding agencies to promote the establishment of such centres. He appreciated the work done at the Centre and expressed happiness over the progress made by the Centre in the last 10 years.
