Children, parents and staff prepared for months for the Centre’s Anniversary celebration on December 12, 2003. Former Chief Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, T V Antony, IAS, was the chief guest on that occasion. The 7th Annual Sports Day of the Centre on February 13, 2004 was a memorable one.
There was all round excitement amidst the audience and participants at the presence of Lakshmipathi Balaji, Test cricketer, as the chief guest. Towering above everyone, with the little kids peering up to look at him and receive prizes from him, Balaji endeared himself to the entire MNC family.

The Centre celebrated Deepavali, Christmas, Pongal, Bakrid and the Republic Day, with full participation by the parents as well as the staff. Children of the Centre gave a presentation of their yoga skills before an international audience at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, and a cultural programme at Vani Mahal for the public. The kids also participated in a regional painting competition held by Camlin Paints, one of them winning a prize. The Centre has launched three schemes to reach out services to children who had dropped out of training due to domestic compulsions (Sankarshana scheme), to provide nutritional and medical support to children at the Centre from impoverished homes (Annapoorna scheme) and for well-to-do parents to share their resources to sponsor poor children for training (Sudharma). Not a dull moment at MNC!
