The Honorary Consulate of Spain in Chennai in conjunction with Hotel Sheraton Park conducted a gastronomy week showcasing facets of Spain at Hotel Sheraton Park’s Cappuccino from 17-23 October 2011, soon after the Spanish National Day on 12 October. The event, part of the consulate’s efforts to promote Spanish culture, featured some Spanish culinary delicacies by Chef Guillermo Hidalgo. Interestingly, the chef offered some great Spanish food and wine, all made out of ingredients and seasoning selected from the Indian market.
The cognoscenti of Chennai were treated to an evening of eclectic Spanish fl amenco dance on 16 October 2011 at Hotel Sheraton Park, as a fi tting prelude to the Spanish gastronomy week. The wonderful fl amenco artists of the night enthralled the attendees with their sensuous moves and unmatched choreography. The guests were in rapture throughout, tapping their feet in delight.
