To benefit the citizens of Mettur and nearby localities, Chemplast Sanmar has built a new railway station with attendant facilities at Mettur Dam at an investment of Rs.6.0 crore. This has immensely benefited the local population.
Chitrapettai is the coastal village where the Chemplast Marine Terminal Facility is located. The region suffered from poor toilet facilities.
