SSL has forged strong business alliances with reputed commercial managers operating out of Europe.

Hafnia & Maersk Tankers (A P Moeller) based in Copenhagen, Denmark, operate the oil tankers.

Employment

SSL ships are employed on international and domestic routes. The tankers trade with oil majors such as BP, Shell, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, Reliance and major traders such as Trafigura and Vitol in the oil segment. One LPG ship is on a Mitsubishi time charter carrying VCM, and the other is operated by GasChem Services of Hamburg.

The chemical tanker is a specialised ship capable of carrying vegetable oils, inorganic chemicals and high grade acids, including sulphuric and phosphoric acids for both international traders such as Transammonia, Noble and domestic customers, including Sterlite and SPIC.

Management

The fleet’s operations are managed out of The Sanmar Group headquarters in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. All the operations related to Commercial, Financial, Insurance, Technical, Fleet Personnel, Training and Risk Management functions are handled out of this office which is manned by a dedicated team of professional executives.

Compliance

The ships conform to applicable national and international standards of Health, Safety, Security, Environmental protection and Conservation.

The tankers and LPG Carriers are submitted for vetting by the oil majors such as BP, Shell, Equinor, Chevron, ENOC, ADNOC, Petronas, etc.
