Chennai: Chemplast Sanmar, a leading manufacturer of PVC and caustic soda, is investing an additional Rs 100 crore for achieving zero discharge of effluents and adopting environment-friendly membrane cell-based process. It had invested Rs 50 crore in the last four years towards environment management. It said it has taken a step to install an effluent treatment process that would help its plant at Mettur achieve the status of zero discharge of effluents.
