CHENNAI: The first IACC-Sanmar Indo-US Business Co-operation Award is being presented to Flowserve Corporation, USA, for its role in "sharing technology at a time when Indian industry needed it most".
The annual award, instituted by the Indo-American Chamber of commerce and the sanmar Group, recognizes the efforts of a company or individual to promote Indo-US relations through business or economic activity. According to an IACC press release, Flowserve’s relationship with India spans four decades.
The global leader in fluid motion and control products, which has manufacturing facilities in Bangalore and Coimbatore, has helped to lay the foundation for India’s global competitiveness in the engineering field.
The 2006 award will be presented to Flowserve president and chief executive Lewis Kling by US Consul General David T. Hopper in Chennai on April 11.
