The Driving Force

The men at the helm of The Sanmar Group have provided invaluable leadership to both state-level and apex bodies representing Indian industry. N Sankar, the late Chairman of the Group, is a past President of ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India). N Kumar, Chairman, Group Corporate Board, is a past President of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry). N Sankar was a member of the Managing Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Paris, apart from having been the President of the Indian National Committee of the ICC. Vijay Sankar, the present Chairman of The Sanmar Group has held many public offices. He is the Past President of the Indian Chemical Council and the Vice President of TNTA.

The decades-long ties of the Group with Denmark have formed apt expression in both KS Narayanan, Chairman Emeritus of the Group, and N Sankar, occupying the position of the Danish Honorary Consul General for South India at different periods. Vijay Sankar, a chartered accountant and an alumnus of the Kellogg School of Management, USA, is the present Honorary Consul General of Denmark for South India.
